L’ISOLA
ANALOGICA

Il documentario racconta alcune curiose vicende che
hanno avuto luogo ad Alicudi, un’isola delle Eolie.
Leggende, allucinazioni, usanze e superstizioni, legate
(o meno) al consumo accidentale di segale cornuta, la
pianta da cui si ricava l’LSD.
In luoghi difficili ed
impervi quali Alicudi la Logica perde il suo potere di
distinzione tra il vero e il Falso, Giusto e Sbagliato e
lascia il posto ad un approccio non precisamente logico,
appunto, analogico.

Francesco Giuseppe Raganato è nato a Copertino
(Lecce) nel 1978.
Collabora dal 2002 con la casa di
produzione GANGA, partecipando alla realizzazione di
numerosi videoclip e documentari, tra i quali il
pluripremiato The Big Question.
Spesso affianca all’attività di regista quella di
direttore della fotografia.
Dal 2003 collabora anche con la casa di produzione
Wilder con cui realizzadocumentari
per RAITRE.
Il
suo primo documentario socio-etnografico San Giuseppe
da Copertino ha vinto il “Salento International Film
Festival” 2006 e il “Satricum Doc Festival” nella
categoria Sperimentazione e Innovazione.
Vincitore del premio per il miglior
documentario sezione “Visti da vicino” al Festival del
documentario d’Abruzzo 2009.

BERAC KAMENA

Il raccoglitore di pietre lavora e danza nel suo vecchio
pozzo in pietra, ma senza l’uso di macchinari. Non ci
sono dialoghi. Solamente passi di danza nel silenzio e
il rumore della pietra. Come fa un modo di guadagnarsi
la vita tanto difficile a rendere una persona del
Mediterraneo così unica e meravigliosa?
Branko Istvancic, nato nel 1967 a Subotica, si
laurea nel 1999 in regia cinematografica e televisiva
presso l’Accademia di Arte Drammatica di Zagabria.
Profondamente radicato nella tradizione documentaristica
croata, nei suoi lavori tratta i temi che affronta con
ironia e sguardo umano.

Il suo documentario Wellman
(2003), ne è la prova evidente. I critici considerano il suo film The Cormorant Scarecrow (1998) uno dei
migliori documentari croati degli anni novanta. Dal 2003
lavora stabilmente per la televisione nazionale croata
nella regia di documentari, serie di programmi
educativi e fiction.

Branko Istvancic was born in Subotica. Graduated
film and TV direction in 1999 at Academy of Dramatic
Arts in Zagreb capital of Croatia.
Making his first, documentary films on 8 mm camera at 15
with his first Hungarian film teacher Zoltan Sifl is
from Subotica, he has continuously been involved with
documentary films and has received Croatian as well as
international rewards for his work - The Grand Prix at
“Croatian Short and Documentary Film Festival”,
Oktavijan and Zlatna Uljanica being among them.
His student short fiction Saying Goodbye / Rastanak was
included in the New Direction programme of The First
Film Foundation in London, a selection of six out
standing films by promising European directors. Deeply
enrooted in the Croatian documentary tradition, he pays
special attention to the humane, but also humoristic,
treatment of his subjects. His successfully fi lm,
Wellman / Bunarman (2003), continues this tradition, and
elevates the simple story about a well digger to a level
of the universal metaphor, but without the pretentious
nature of many Croatian documentaries. The critics
consider his film The Cormorant Scarecrow / Plasitelj
Kormorana (1998) to be one of the best Croatian
documentaries of the nineties. His debut The Ghost in
the Swamp with 60 thousand domestic visitors is placed
second on the annual box-office report in 2006 and has
been chosen to mark the comeback of feature-length films
for children which have not been made by the
Croatian film industry for the last twenty years. He is
member of Croatian Film Director’s Guild.
